Squirt Bottles, Bubbles, Popsicles, Jammies and Movies - Last Day of Pre-K 3

“Play is the highest expression of human development in children; it’s the free expression of what’s in a child’s soul.” Friedrich Froebel

What a day! Let me just say I cannot believe it has been a full school year, Finley and Grey’s first school year. What a wonderful thing for them. It is great to see how they have grown and the friendships they have made. They were blessed with wonderful teachers, staff and people who cared about them. Today, as on most days, they played and had a blast!

“Play is the highest form of research.” Albert Einstein

Well, today was definitely filled with research!

First, the pre-k classes got to spend the morning on the “big kid playground” armed with squirt bottles and bubbles.

And the teachers were VERY good sports!

They even chased Mrs. Gutierrez into the tree!

“People tend to forget that play is serious.” David Hockney, artist

“The most effective kind of education is that a child should play amongst lovely things.” Plato

Bubbles, bubbles, everywhere!

“The day I see a leaf is a marvel of a day.” Kenneth Patton, poet

Friends.

Then, of course, we all had to stop and observe the recycling truck as it emptied four giant containers into the truck.

Next step – popsicles. The kids look a little dazed and wilted, but not for long!

After popsicles the kiddos changed into jammies to eat popcorn and watch movies, “Nemo” was first. Then some chose to go and play on the playground . . . in jammies!

And, how could it be time to go? Lots of hugs and kisses and wishes to “see you soon!”

Happy hearts.
